This American Heirloom Beefsteak variety is named for the Cherokee Indians who first grew them over 100 years ago. Productive plants produce large fruits (350-450g). The colour is a dusty dark rose pink with darker purple shoulders. Excellent flavour! Indeterminate

• Sow seeds 2mm deep. Keep the seed compost moist and use a propagator or a warm windowsill
• Minimum temperature 18-20°C
• Days to germination: 6-14
• Transplant when seedlings are large enough to handle
• Plant out when 20cm. Requires warmth and a good summer to thrive outside. Acclimatise to cooler conditions if planting outside
• Keep moist and feed with a liquid tomato fertilizer fortnightly when the first fruit appear
