• Sow May to August in good seed compost for early spring displays
• Seed depth: 1.5mm
• Exclude light to aid germination
• Optimum temperature: 19-24°C
• Days to germination: 14-21
• When large enough to handle transplant and grow on in cooler conditions
• Gradually acclimatise to outdoor conditions for 10-15 days before planting out
• Plant spacing: 15-20cm apart
• Late summer sowings should be planted out early autumn or moved to a cold frame for planting out in early spring
• Soil: Copes in most soil conditions
• Light: Sun or partial shade
