The petals have a velvet like feel and the long toothed leaves have hairy undersides. Makes for a great cut flower that can reach 100-150cm. Allow to self seed for more next year. Annual. • Sow thinly mid spring through to July
• Cover lightly and keep moist at a temperature of 60°C (they will not germinate if cold)
• Can also be sown outdoors in well drained through to early summer
• Days to germination: 10-21
• When large enough to handle transplant to 7cm pots and grow on
• Acclimatise to cooler conditions and plant out after all danger of frost has passed
• Plant spacing: 45-60cm
