Give your butterflies a gift with this one. A very popular bi-annual that produces lovely clusters of flowers of many shades of purple through to white but is equally prized for the delicate seed heads. Reaching 90cm it makes for a great cut flower; both the blooms and the seed heads are wonderful additions to your vase. Will happily self-seed if left to its own devices. Bi-annual. • Sow in trays or directly outside in drills. Soil must be kept moist during germination period
• Sowing depth: 3mm
• Row spacing: 30cm
• Plant spacing: 15cm
• In autumn transplant to their final growing position for the following spring
• To dry the seed pods for flower arrangements just cut the stems and hang in bunches upside down in a cool airy room to dry. Gently remove the out seed casing
• You can also scatter the seeds at will for a wild effect and leave to self-seed from there on in.
